Students now have an opportunity to apply for the 1-semester class of Patient of Foundation Care, in the Academy of Health as a 10th-grade student.

The Academy of Health Professions is a 2-year program offered to 11th and 12th-grade students. This 7-credit program empowers students to become multi-skilled health care providers. They learn to perform personal care skills including feeding, bathing, and dressing residents. Students also learn administrative and medical office skills including EKG, vein puncture, medication administration, and pharmacy technician skills. Students will have the opportunity to learn in an interesting and motivating environment. This program prepares students to work in one of the fastest-growing professions in the United States today and strengthens their readiness for success in post-secondary institutions.
The Academy of Health Professions 1 is a full-year course designed for 11th-grade students interested in health-related professions. The primary areas of study include foundations of medicine, health sciences, and the structure and function of the human body. Students engage in processes and hands-on procedures that are used in healthcare services. Field trips to explore health career opportunities will be provided. Students can become certified in CPR/ First Aid and have the opportunity to earn proficiency credits from Anne Arundel Community College.

The Academy of Health Professions 2 course prepares 12th-grade students for employment and further post-secondary education.
